Within my HOUSE BRICK constructions, I have limited my palette to three materials: brick, timber and reclaimed concrete. My practice embraces an aesthetic of resourcefulness that arises out of necessity. Although these works explore architectural ideas and simplified notions of home, there is an underlying preoccupation with formalist composition however at its heart it is just series of blocks reminiscent of childhood play, a romanticised notion of home and perceived safety.
